Here at GB The Loop we are very excited to be bringing Jiu Jitsu to the heart of the Windy City.

We are committed to keeping the high level of excellence in our training and our instructors that Gracie Barra Jiu-Jitsu is known throughout the world for. Our instructor Professor Philipe Della Monica is a 1st degree Black Belt and has taught with Professor Marcio Feitosa, and Master Carlos Gracie Jr. at Gracie Barra America in Irvine, California.

GB The Loop is a place to come and learn Jiu-Jitsu from people who have trained with the best in the world and know what Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is. Master Carlos Gracie Jr. is the founder and president of the BJJ federation and is the son of Grand Master Carlos Gracie who along with his brothers started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Our head instructor, Professor Philipe trained with some famous name like Renato "Babalu" Sobral, Georges St Pierre, Roger Gracie and others at Gracie Barra America School.

We strictly adhere to the rules of BJJ and take great pride in offering the best instruction and believe that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is one of the best sports around. Not only do you learn practical self defense skills- BJJ is also one of the best aerobic workouts there is. Those who begin the sport are surprised at how good they feel after training and are also surprised at how much weight they lose just from increasing their activity level. All ages can practice this sport and families can participate together, allowing BJJ to be a life long activity.

We also believe that a disciplined lifestyle involves all areas of life; we are happy to incorporate throughout the year various seminars dealing with nutrition, exercise, fitness, etc. These seminars are offered to help the students learn a healthier way of life and give practical solutions to the problems everyone has when trying to stay in shape and balancing a very busy life. Jiu-Jitsu is a life style.
